What’s on the Horizon?
According to Sony, there’s a chance we might hear news on must-play games for the PS5. The 2025 PS5 lineup provides some clues, though nothing has been confirmed as such. Fans should expect major announcements for new titles including the Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Ghost of Yōtei, Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater, Borderlands 4, Little Nightmares III, ARC Raiders, Hell Is Us, Lost Soul Aside, Ninja Gaiden 4, Where Winds Meet, Directive 8020, Forever Skies, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, MindsEye, Mafia: The Old Country and more.
There is also a chance for surprises, however, thanks to Insomniac (Wolverine), Sony Santa Monica (God of War), Bend Studio (Days Gone), or Guerrilla Games (Horizon Forbidden West). People are wondering if there could be an updated announcement about Final Fantasy VII Remake Chapter 3.
Setting Expectations
The thrilling possibilities may be undermined at this point. February 2025 State of Play gave us a hint of what’s to come, with Housemarque’s Saros coming into focus, Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater and Borderlands 4 getting a release date, plus all-new Onimusha: Way of the Sword lead character. The event in June could follow the same theme of big announcements and hidden gems.
