North American esports organization Wildcard has unveiled a revamped Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) roster for the 2026 season. This significant overhaul marks a fresh chapter for the team, following multiple roster adjustments over the previous year.
The New Wildcard Lineup
Jaxon ‘Peeping’ Cornwell is the only returning player from Wildcard’s final event of 2025. Joining him are Miłosz ‘mhL’ Knasiak and Simon ‘sSen’ Solnæs Iversen from Wildcard Academy, along with Anthony ‘CLASIA’ Kearney and former M80 player Ethan ‘reck’ Serrano. The roster transition followed the decision to bench Peter ‘stanislaw’ Jarguz, Joshua ‘JBa’ Barutt, and Love ‘phzy’ Smidebrant after the team missed qualifying for the StarLadder Budapest Major.
Wildcard’s new roster marks a fresh start, with the team set to compete in upcoming events to rise in the ranks.
Reck’s move to Wildcard ends his four-month tenure on the M80 bench, having previously competed at the BLAST.tv Austin Major. Meanwhile, CLASIA brings extensive North American Counter-Strike experience, having played for teams like Gaimin Gladiators, SkinRave, and BLUEJAYS during his career.
What Next For Wildcard?
With Peeping as the sole survivor of the previous roster, once ranked 83rd in December 2025’s Valve Regional Standings (VRS), Wildcard effectively starts anew. The revamped team will need to participate in various Ranked events to accumulate VRS points, which are crucial for invitations to prestigious tournaments, including Counter-Strike’s Majors.
Wildcard’s first outing with the new lineup will be at Miami Frag2, hosted by Fragadelphia, from January 2nd to 4th. Competing against teams from Europe and North America, they will vie for VRS points and a share of an $8,000 (~£5,953) prize pool.
