Unlocking APAS Enhancements in Death Stranding 2

When you first arrive in Australia, your journey into the APAS enhancement system begins. Once you have passed through the Plate Gate and boarded the DHV Magellan, you will receive Main Order #9, which involves the delivery of a Chiral Decontaminator to the Government base. While you prepare for this delivery, Charlie will show you the APAS Enhancements system, adding a whole new layer of gameplay customization.

Understanding the APAS System

When you first enter APAS, you will see various nodes you can allocate. The operation of the system is the same as that of the Chiral Network but with restricted initial bandwidth that requires decision-making on the part of the player. The more missions you complete and the more preps you level up, the more memory you will gain.

APAS is flexible because you can activate or deactivate nodes whenever you want. All you need to do is be within the Chiral Network and not in combat. As you go along the way, it allows you to adapt to different challenges.

Expanding Your APAS Capabilities

As you make deliveries, the APAS memory grows naturally. Every now and then, the order completion screen will show some memory boosts. This happens when you fill a prepper’s star.

However, the returning 5 pointed Porter System unlocks new enhancement nodes. This system, unlike that of its predecessor, which provided passive buffs, provides you access to a variety of APAS Enhancements of your choice, such as increased bullet damage and increased carrier handling.

The Porter System has five classifications: Porter, Combat, Stealth, Servicemanship and Bridge Link. You’re not limited to just one tree. If you have enough memory, you can load improvements from multiple branches to personalize your experience.

Like standard RPG skill trees some nodes have prerequisites. To access faster Mule postbox hacking, you need to have the Weather Analysis Display enabled. Hold the Triangle button to deactivate all nodes if you want to reset.

Essential Early-Game Enhancements

While there aren’t many node options initially, some good ones are worth activating early.

Stealth and Scanning Improvements

Simplistic Noise Canceller allows you to move almost inaudibly before you become a combat capable force. Your visual contact will be maintained with enemies, but your sound contact will not.

The Odradek scanner will cool off faster if you use the Faster Scanner Recharging upgrade.  Don’t forget that the sensor detects in the direction of your camera, not necessarily where Sam is pointing.

The Proximity Scanner detects foes within 20 meters. It shows their outlines on the screen. This is great for staying aware while sneaking.

Combat Efficiency

Improved MP Bullets has no requirements, only 40 memory cost, and greatly increases power and accuracy of MP rounds which is crucial to tackle human and BT threats alike.

Practical Field Utilities

Swift MULE Postbox Hacking significantly speeds up accessing these containers, making it perfect for time-crunched raids and effective cleanup after battles.

The Emergency Vehicle Charger allows Sam to transfer battery power to vehicles. This gifted device can help you avoid being stranded just short of your destination.

Carrier Handling Boost gives you better control of floating carriers when they are used as skateboards in the wrong places. To use this node, you first need an item called Skeleton Auto-Assist for balancing while wear a exoskeleton.
