The upcoming Total War: Warhammer 3 DLC, Tides of Torment, is set to bring fresh chaos to the battlefield with two intriguing new legendary lords. Dechala, the six-armed serpentine champion of Slaanesh, was already revealed, but now players get a deeper look at Sayl the Faithless—a cunning Norscan sorcerer whose name alone hints at his untrustworthy nature.
Sayl specializes in deception, with mechanics centered around betrayal and manipulation. His backstory includes a particularly grim twist: he can summon a unique Chaos Spawn named Nightmaw, crafted from the remains of the very wizards he first betrayed. Alongside him, the Norscan faction gains a Fimir Noble hero, a monstrous Chimera, and additional units yet to be unveiled.
Throgg the Troll King Finally Gets His Due
One of the most exciting updates for long-time fans is the revamp of Throgg, the so-called King of the Trolls. Previously portrayed as a mindless brute, Throgg is actually one of the most intelligent creatures in Warhammer lore. The Tides of Torment DLC will finally do him justice, giving him a voice that reflects his cunning intellect.
Norsca’s existing mechanics, including the Monstrous Arcanum and Chaos confederation system, are also receiving significant updates. Other Norscan legendary lords will get refreshed voice lines, ensuring a more immersive experience.
Patch 6.2 Brings Ancillary Improvements and More
Beyond the DLC, the next major update, version 6.2, focuses on expanding and rebalancing ancillaries. The development team has been gathering valuable feedback from players in the Proving Grounds beta, refining the changes before the full release.
While Tides of Torment is expected later this summer, players won’t have to wait much longer for more details—including the reveal of the DLC’s third legendary lord.
