‘This Is Brilliant’: Battlefield 6 Players Flock to Giant Fan-Made Conquest Maps Amid Map Size Debate

The Battlefield 6 community has long been vocal about its desire for more expansive Conquest maps. In response, creative fans have taken matters into their own hands, crafting larger maps that have quickly gained popularity.

Since the game’s launch, players have continuously requested various changes from EA and Battlefield Studios, ranging from adjustments to aim assist to more realistic skins. However, one topic that has dominated discussions is the size of the maps. Some community members have gone to great lengths to measure the maps, while others have expressed their dissatisfaction through review-bombing. In a more constructive approach, inventive players have utilized Battlefield Portal and REDSEC to create their own larger maps.

Thanks to the efforts of Reddit users kurtinthegrind and andy_6170 (known as ViperAndyStudios), the Battlefield 6 community now enjoys the expansive Club House map. This new Conquest play area incorporates elements from REDSEC’s Southern California-set Fort Lyndon map, offering the wide-open spaces players have been seeking. Additional options like Tech Center and Operation Tech Center provide varied gameplay experiences, with the former focusing on infantry and the latter featuring linear gameplay around a central building.

“The credit to the original version of Tech Center and the Conquest Script belongs to Andy,” kurtinthegrind explains, “though I’ve made a few modifications to them.”

“Club House and the smaller version of Tech Center are my creations, and honestly, I’m not too proud of them. But until Ripple Effect/Battlefield Studios provides improved Portal support and releases ALL parts of Battle Royale map, these will have to suffice.”

Currently, players can create servers with both bot and bot-less versions of the Club House and Tech Center maps. Club House, also known as Golf Course, has garnered significant attention online, attracting hundreds of active players and filling 64-player servers with real participants.

Our experience on Club House revealed that even with about 30 players per team, combat felt spaced out, requiring infantry to sprint considerable distances to reach objectives. Small vehicles, helicopters, and tanks enhance travel, with higher ticket sizes and large play areas enabling extensive vehicle warfare and extended matches.

“This is brilliant,” one popular comment reads. “Fingers crossed they actually put these on the official map rotation. For now, I’ll just mess around with my squad.”

Compared to other standard Conquest maps, Club House offers a fresh experience, which has been well-received by players. Our brief time with real-world players saw the in-game chat filled with praise for the map’s long sightlines and vehicle combat potential.

Fingers crossed they actually put these on the official map rotation. For now, I’ll just mess around with my squad.

Potential for Future Additions

Portal game modes, including Club House Conquest, maintain a dedicated following, despite slower progression due to modified XP rates. One Battlefield 6 player took to Reddit after trying the mode, saying, “for the first time, I felt like I could breathe in this game.”

“There are too many small, cramped, and poorly designed maps in this game, and I never had much opportunity to play normally without constantly confronting opponents in narrow alleys or buildings,” the post states. “I think there should be maps like in BF3/4, small, medium, but also large.”

While some players advocate for these fan-made maps to join the official Battlefield 6 playlists, others believe that the success of maps like Club House affirms that Portal is functioning as intended. Whether BF Studios will spotlight these experiences remains uncertain.

Although official announcements regarding future map sizes remain pending, new content is on the horizon. The upcoming map, Eastwood, set to release soon as part of Season 1, follows the initial Blackwell Fields, which faced fan criticism. More content will continue to roll out in upcoming seasons.

For those eager to explore these Portal maps, the in-game community tab allows players to search experiences using the following codes.
