Resolution Games has given us a first look at the gameplay trailer for Demeo x Dungeons and Dragons: Battlemarked while also confirming its release window for late 2025 and the platforms that it will launch on.
A Fusion of Demeo and Dungeons & Dragons
Resolution Games, famed for its digital tabletop fantasy adventure Demeo, has partnered with Wizards of the Coast to build the first virtual reality gaming experience set in the famed Dungeons & Dragons universe. The game, called Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked will come on PC via Steam and on PlayStation 5, with a VR version through PlayStation VR2, Steam VR and Meta Quest 3 . Tactical Gameplay Meets D&D Lore.
Battlemarked adds Dungeons & Dragons classes, actions and lore to the Demeo action role-playing framework. This framework doesn’t use a dungeon master & emphasizes tactical teamwork instead of story-driven roleplay. As per Resolution Games, the design encourages lively group discussions that focus on tactics and decisions. Tommy Palm, the founder and CEO of game-design company Resolution Games stated that Demeo does have lore to its world but other games focused more on tactical action.
Crafting an Immersive Story
Karen Murphy, the story designer on this project, has helped design the Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) tabletop game and also contributed to games like Baldur’s Gate II, Baldur’s Gate, and Icewind Dale. Sernett told us that the first adventure for the game borrows heavily from the 2014 fifth edition of Dungeons & Dragons. Players will shift through the familiar Neverwinter Wood, Cragmaw Castle, and Mount Hotenow. According to him, much like how characters are significant to a storyline, the Dungeons &Dragons world is important too. Therefore, players are in for a trip filled with danger and excitement.
A second adventure launching at a later date in 2025 will be revealed later. So, Get ready for tactical, lore-rich experience.
