The Flank, a well-known Call of Duty esports show, has announced it will host an exclusive invitational tournament featuring Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 players vying for a $20,000 (~£15,197) prize pool. This fourth edition promises an exciting display of skill and strategy as players dive into the latest installment of the iconic first-person shooter series.

The Excitement of The Flank Invitational

Announced on November 12th, 2025, the Black Ops 7 Invitational by The Flank is one of the earliest chances for fans to witness CDL talents navigating the new game’s dynamics. Scheduled for November 18th, the tournament will have teams randomly selected a day prior, adding an element of surprise to the competition. Supported by furniture giant Herman Miller, the event promises an engaging experience for both participants and viewers.

While the list of participants remains under wraps, the tournament will feature the same game modes set to appear in the CDL for the 2026 season. Notably, the new mode Overload is set to replace Control, making its competitive debut.

The previous year’s invitational saw fierce competition among 12 teams, with Thomas ‘Scrap’ Ernst and his teammates claiming victory over a $25,000 (~£19,006) prize pool.

Black Ops 7 Esports Plans Unveiled

As the Call of Duty League gears up for the Black Ops 7 season, fans can expect an exhilarating lineup. The league has announced that Majors will occur in Dallas, Texas, and Atlanta, Georgia, with returns to the UK and a debut in Paris. The season will culminate with the CDL Championship hosted by the newly rebranded FaZe Vegas in mid-July.

The amateur circuit is also set for an overhaul, with open LAN tournaments at each Major and four Elite seasons per region. Additionally, the Middle East joins the fray, integrating with Europe to provide new opportunities for aspiring players in the region.
