Team Spirit rises to second place in the August 2025 Valve Regional Standings (VRS) after previously finishing third. The August VRS will be a decisive factor for invitations to future Counter-Strike 2 tournaments like the IEM Chengdu and the Thunderpick World Championship.
IEM Cologne Triumph Boosts Team Spirit’s Standing
After winning IEM Cologne 2025 against MOUZ in the Grand Final, Team Spirit is now closing in on the number one spot. Team Vitality is still first after losing their semi-final matchup against MOUZ. This cements their status as the world’s best CS2 team.
NAVI climbed 3 spots to 5th after securing a place in the IEM Cologne Playoffs among the top 10 rankings. FURIA moved from 9th to 6th place due to their great performance.
The most impressive performance came from Chinese team TYLOO, who jumped from 20th to tenth place with their victory in FISSURE Playground 1.
While some teams went up, some teams went down. After suffering defeat after defeat, Team Liquid dropped nine places to 26th as they remained in danger of dropping out of the top 32. Aurora Gaming dropped out of the top ten, settling at eleventh while HEROIC dropped six places to 18th.

August VRS Determines Tournament Invitations
Teams will be determined for IEM Chengdu and Thunderpick World Championship via an August VRS later in the year. So far, the tournament have not revealed what teams have accepted.
For IEM Chengdu, there will be two spots from Europe, the Americas, and Asia, along with 10 spots from the world ranking, which shall be distributed after the regional invites have confirmed.
The global standings will provide four qualification spots at the Thunderpick World Championship.
