Bethesda Game Studios has rolled out update 1.15.216 for Starfield, bringing key enhancements to the sci-fi RPG. One of the most notable additions is the new Very Low display settings, designed to improve performance on lower-end PCs. Since launch, Starfield has faced criticism for optimisation issues, and this update aims to make the game more accessible to players with less powerful hardware.
Expanded Modding Capabilities
The update also introduces several improvements for modders, making Starfield more flexible for content creators. The Creation Kit now allows modders to add custom icons, while the Creations Store supports bundled mods. Additionally, the file size limit for uploads has been doubled to 2GB, giving creators more freedom to develop expansive mods.
A new professionally crafted mod, Watchtower, has also been highlighted in this update. Developed by Kinggath Creations—known for their work on Skyrim and Fallout 4—Watchtower introduces a fresh storyline where players face off against a faction that sees them as a threat to humanity. The mod also adds new gameplay mechanics, including orbital strikes.
