GSC Game World has revealed that the Stalker: Legends of the Zone Trilogy Enhanced Edition will be released on May 20 for consoles and PC. This remastered collection brings a significant upgrade to last year’s Legends of the Zone bundle.
The Enhanced Edition includes all three original Stalker titles: Shadow of Chornobyl, Clear Sky, and Call of Pripyat. Players will experience these classic games with numerous visual improvements, including updated lighting and reflections, upscaled textures, enhanced water effects and skyboxes, and improved cinematics. A major addition to this remaster is mod support, allowing both console and PC players to access community-created modifications.
Console Performance Options and PC Optimizations
PlayStation 5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X owners will have access to several performance modes: Quality (4K/30 FPS), Balanced (upscaled 4K/40 FPS), Performance (upscaled 4K/60 FPS), and Ultra Performance (upscaled 2K/120 FPS). Console players will also have the option to use keyboard and mouse controls.
The PC version has been optimized for Steam Deck compatibility and features Steam Workshop integration for easier mod installation and management.
Pricing and Free Upgrades
The complete trilogy bundle is priced at $40, while individual game remasters can be purchased separately for $20 each. Console owners of the original Legends of the Zone collection will receive the Enhanced Edition updates at no additional cost. Similarly, PC players who already own the original games will get the remasters for free, and purchasing the Enhanced Edition will include the original versions as well.
Ukrainian Developer’s Resilience
Despite facing significant challenges related to the Russia-Ukraine War, Ukrainian developer GSC Game World has continued to deliver. The studio has overcome numerous obstacles, including emergency evacuations of hundreds of employees due to the invasion, establishing a new office in Prague, and dealing with a fire at this new location. Despite these difficulties, the team successfully completed development on Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl last year, demonstrating remarkable determination in challenging circumstances.
