Skyrim Anniversary Edition Debuts Unexpectedly on Nintendo Switch 2, Harnessing Full Hardware Power with NVIDIA DLSS

Bethesda Game Studios has pleasantly surprised fans by unveiling The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition for the immensely popular Nintendo Switch 2 platform. This new version brings various technical enhancements that take advantage of the latest hardware, promising a more immersive gaming experience.

Enhanced Features and Upgrades

The Anniversary Edition was previously available on the Switch 2 for those who owned the older Switch version, launched in September 2022. However, this native edition is packed with improvements like enhanced resolution, DLSS anti-aliasing, faster load times, and optimized performance. Joy-Con 2 mouse control, motion controls, and Amiibo support are also included to elevate the gameplay experience.

Beyond these technical upgrades, the content remains identical to the original Switch version. Players can enjoy exclusive in-game items inspired by The Legend of Zelda, such as the Master Sword, Hylian Shield, and Champion’s Tunic. The game is priced at $59.99 for new users, but existing Switch owners can upgrade for free.

Expansions and Creation Club Content

Just like its previous releases on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, launched on November 11, 2021, the Anniversary Edition includes official expansions such as Hearthfire, Dawnguard, and Dragonborn. Players also gain access to various Creation Club items, offering a diverse array of enhancements and unique items that add depth to the game.

Some of the notable Creation Club additions include the Adventurer’s Backpack, various Alternative Armors, and weapons like the Bow of Shadows and Chrysamere. Players can also engage in new activities like fishing and farming, adding unique mechanics to the already rich game world.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition has launched on Nintendo Switch 2, incorporating a range of enhancements to utilize the console’s advanced hardware.

Unfortunately, the Nintendo versions do not support the Creation Club menu, unlike the PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms. Meanwhile, fans eagerly awaiting new installments will have to be patient, as reports suggest that The Elder Scrolls VI won’t debut until after the release of GTA VI, anticipated sometime around 2027.
