Sapphire is shaking up the hardware gaming scene with the debut of its Nitro+ X870EA motherboards and RX 9070 XT Nitro+ graphics card, equipped with innovative PhantomLink connectors. This launch introduces gamers to a new era of connectivity and power efficiency.
Sapphire’s PhantomLink Innovation at Computex 2025
At the much-anticipated Computex 2025, Sapphire unveiled their latest technological marvels, including the X870EA Nitro+ motherboards and the Radeon RX 9070 XT Nitro+ graphics cards. This cutting-edge lineup is built on the robust AM5 motherboards and RDNA 4 GPUs foundation. Both products incorporate the revolutionary PhantomLink “BTF” connectors, which adhere to the 12V-2×6 standard. This innovation eliminates the need for a 16-pin connector cable, providing a safer and more reliable connection without the risk of damage from improper cable use.
Exploring the Features of Sapphire’s Motherboards and Graphics Card
The Sapphire X870E Nitro+ PhantomLink motherboards are offered in striking “Polar Edition” white and sleek black. These motherboards are built around the AM5 socket and X870E chipset. With 16+2+1 (90A) power delivery, they can handle up to 250W CPU TDPs using dual 8-pin connectors. They support memory speeds up to 8400 MT/s (OC+) and capacities of up to 256 GB, alongside four M.2 slots compatible with both Gen5 and Gen4 protocols.
Designed with a thoughtful layout and distinctive heatsink design, these motherboards ensure optimal performance. The EZ release M.2 slot and ARGB LEDs beside the IO covers enhance usability and aesthetics. Additional features include Power On/Off and Reset buttons, DEBUG LED, 40 Gbps USB Type-C, 20 Gbps USB Type-C with power delivery, Wi-Fi 7, and 5 Gbps LAN ports.

The standout feature of these motherboards is the new PhantomLink connector, capable of delivering over 800W of power to compatible graphics cards. Sapphire’s GC_HPWR connector is not only compatible with its own PhantomLink cards but also supports similar designs from ASUS and Colorful.

The Sapphire Radeon RX 9070 XT Nitro+ PhantomLink graphics card boasts a custom PCB supporting up to 3060 MHz boost frequencies. It features PTM7950 TIM and employs a triple-slot, triple-fan cooling solution, ensuring high performance and appealing aesthetics.
