Samsung Kicks Off Mass Production of First-Ever 360Hz V-Stripe QD-OLED Panels, Debuting in 34-Inch Monitors This Year

Samsung has unveiled its groundbreaking innovation in the world of gaming monitors with the launch of the first-ever 360Hz V-Stripe QD-OLED panels. Set to hit the market this year, these panels promise an unprecedented gaming experience through several top-tier monitor brands.

Introducing Samsung’s High-Performance QD-OLED Panels

Samsung Display has officially commenced mass production of its pioneering 34-inch 360Hz QD-OLED panel, introducing a unique “V (Vertical)-Stripe” pixel structure. Since December 2025, this cutting-edge panel has been distributed to seven leading monitor manufacturers, including ASUS, MSI, and Gigabyte. This innovative V-Stripe arrangement vertically aligns Red, Green, and Blue (RGB) sub-pixels, marking a departure from the traditional triangular sub-pixel setup. The result is enhanced text clarity, catering especially to those in text-heavy fields such as document editing and content creation.

These panels boast a 21:9 ultra-wide aspect ratio, a staggering 360Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of 1,300 nits, capturing the interest of gamers who thrive on immersive, fast-paced experiences in genres like racing and sports.Samsung’s new V-Stripe QD-OLED panels promise to redefine monitor displays by delivering unparalleled visuals with their unique pixel layout and high refresh rates.

Tackling Technical Challenges with Innovation

Samsung has addressed significant technical hurdles in developing these advanced panels, such as maintaining organic material lifespan and managing heat generation and brightness decay. By optimizing organic material efficiency and leveraging QD-OLED’s top emission structure, Samsung successfully produced a high-performance display that merges the V-Stripe pixel structure with an ultra-wide aspect ratio, high refresh rate, and enhanced brightness.

The official debut of the V-Stripe QD-OLED monitor is scheduled for CES 2026, opening on January 6 in Las Vegas. ASUS and MSI are set to launch new monitor models featuring these panels, and Samsung Display will present the innovative technology at its private showcase at the Encore at Wynn hotel during the event.

Industry analysts anticipate a growth in the market share of self-emissive panels within the premium monitor segment to 27% by 2026, indicating a shift from LCD to OLED technology. In line with this trend, Samsung Display is expected to command a 75% share of the monitor OLED panel market by 2025, with projections reaching 2.5 million QD-OLED units shipped.
