Apex Legends is gearing up for an exciting new chapter with the unveiling of Season 27: Amped. This season is packed with fresh content and updates that promise to shake up the battle royale experience for players worldwide.
Olympus Rework Explained
Season 27 will introduce significant changes to the well-loved Olympus map. With improvements designed to enhance combat flow and ensure safer positioning, players can expect a dynamic new environment. Notably, four fresh points of interest will be added. Somers University will replace Orbital Cannon, featuring thrilling high-flying lifts. Energy Depot will become Gravity Engine, boasting lifts and zip rails for enhanced mobility. The Dockyard will undergo a major transformation with added vertical gameplay elements. Lastly, Stabilizer will take over from Docks, featuring floating rocks that create a path to its outer ballast structure.
Movement Update: Mantle Boost
The Amped season brings exciting updates to movement mechanics, particularly to the Mantle Boost feature. This tech allows players to gain a forward boost when climbing, and now includes an indicator to assist players in mastering this ability. Additionally, the Trident vehicle will receive improved collision, dedicated health, and visual effects, enhancing its utility in both ranked and casual matches.
Balance: New Hop-Ups and Legend Changes
Combat dynamics are set to evolve with the introduction of new weapon Hop-Ups and adjustments to Legend kits. The Alternator SMG will now feature the ‘Double-Tap’ Hop-Up, enabling simultaneous barrel firing for increased damage. Several Legends will receive buffs and tweaks to align with top meta picks, such as Valkyrie, Rampart, and Horizon, who will experience notable improvements in their abilities and combat potential.
Wildcard Update and Battle Pass
Prepare for the Supersonic Event, a new limited-time experience in Apex Legends’ Wildcard mode, running from November 18th to December 16th. The event will offer an upgraded Olympus map, a mythic R-99 firing missiles, and speed-enhancing Wild Card upgrades. Players can look forward to earning exclusive Legendary character and weapon skins, along with the unique Death Duet universal melee weapon, featuring dual katanas. The latest battle pass will present legendary skins for Wattson and Valkyrie, a fresh Spitfire LMG skin, and a reactive Tier 60 Sentinel sniper skin.
