Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s Ranked Battle Mega Stone Prizes Now More Accessible

Exciting news for Pokemon Legends: Z-A fans as the game is set to receive a significant update, making it easier to acquire coveted Mega Stones through Ranked Battles. This change comes as a response to community feedback, aiming to enhance the gaming experience for everyone.

Season 2 Brings Easier Access to Mega Stones

The Pokemon Company has officially announced that starting with Season 2 of the online Ranked Battle mode, players can earn Greninjite at Rank Y and Delphoxite at Rank S. In contrast, during Season 1, Greninjite required achieving Rank K, and Delphoxite wasn’t available at all. The community has expressed frustration over the difficulty in obtaining these items, especially since the Kalos starter Pokemon—Fennekin, Froakie, and Chespin—feature new Mega Evolutions that can only be unlocked through these rewards and not within the story campaign.

Streamlined Progression and Future Updates

While the update still necessitates participating in online play to obtain the rewards, it simplifies the process considerably. In Season 2, securing a Greninjite requires only a single Ranked Battle, with rank points earned from battle actions and victories. Players can quickly ascend ranks, making it feasible to progress from Z to S for Delphoxite. Reports indicate that Game Freak is also adjusting point distribution to facilitate rank advancement.

Looking ahead, it’s likely that Season 3 will introduce Chesnaughtite at a rank similar to Rank S and further reduce the rank requirement for Delphoxite. The announcement hints at frequent reissuance of Mega Stones in upcoming seasons, providing a golden opportunity for collectors to complete their set with minimal effort. With just a few Ranked Battles in Seasons 2 and 3, players can secure all three Mega Stones, then return to the story mode if preferred.

Mark your calendars, as Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s Season 2 kicks off on Wednesday, November 5.

The game has been well-received, with a review praising Game Freak’s successful stride in Pokemon’s 3D era, a captivating setting, an engaging story, and a revamped battle system. Additionally, the game achieved impressive sales, moving nearly six million copies in its first week.
