In his interview with Famitsu, he clarified that while the Halo series continues to thrive with new developments, Forza Motorsport is in a dormant state but not abandoned. Spencer emphasized the strategic decisions involved in focusing on games set to release sooner and assured that the franchise is taking a temporary backseat to allow development teams more flexibility and time.
Turn 10 Studios and Future Plans
Turn 10 Studios has already experienced extended development periods, as seen with the latest Forza Motorsport reboot in 2023, which took six years to complete. Despite this, the game did not meet fan expectations. Additionally, the success of the Forza Horizon franchise, with its open-world and arcade-style racing, continues to overshadow Forza Motorsport. The next installment of Forza Horizon is eagerly anticipated, especially with its new setting in Japan slated for release next year.
