Then I finally go out into the world and I see that people, they have survived. … But you do see the resourcefulness of humanity finding a way to survive when it doesn’t seem like there is a way to survive, and people coming together and sharing their resource. … There is a part of me that has to trust and believe in the goodness of people. Right? To survive something you can only get through it together. If everybody’s scared at everybody all the time, then it’s just war. At some point in time you’ll have to come together and fight as a team.”
