NVIDIA DGX Spark AI Supercomputer: Outstanding Gaming Power with 175+ FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 via DLSS 4 MFG

NVIDIA’s latest innovation, the DGX Spark, is not just technologically groundbreaking in the AI world but also shows remarkable prowess in gaming. Thanks to the integration of DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation, this Mini PC is capable of delivering impressive performance in graphically demanding games like Cyberpunk 2077.

The DGX Spark: A Mini PC with Mighty Gaming Abilities

NVIDIA’s DGX Spark Mini PCs, often dubbed as compact AI supercomputers, have significantly impacted the gaming landscape. These systems, crafted by NVIDIA and other OEMs, are priced around $3,144, offering a sensible alternative to the traditional $4000 cost. Central to these systems is the GB10 Superchip, featuring 20 ARM cores, a Blackwell GPU with 6144 cores, and the capacity to support up to 128 GB of LPDDR5X memory. The GPU is particularly intriguing, offering similar CUDA Core counts to the RTX 5070, albeit with a larger but slower memory pool. However, its integration on the same die imposes thermal and power limitations compared to discrete desktop or laptop GPUs.

Running games on this system does require some adjustment due to the ARM & Linux-based DGX OS. Several emulation layers are needed, making gaming initially challenging. Nevertheless, NVIDIA has released a guide to streamline the process, allowing users to enjoy Cyberpunk 2077 with DLSS 4, Ray Tracing, and Multi-Frame Generation.

Gaming Performance and Comparison

The guide available on NVIDIA’s subreddit details the steps to configure Cyberpunk 2077 on the DGX Spark. By following a few straightforward steps, players can leverage the full potential of the system. With these configurations, the DGX Spark achieves over 175 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 at high settings with Ultra Path Tracing and DLSS 4 enabled, a significant enhancement from the previous 50 FPS.

In comparison, the AMD Strix Halo SoC achieves around 90 FPS at 1080p with similar high settings. These results are with FSR 3 frame generation and no ray tracing, dropping to 40-50 FPS with ray tracing enabled. Thus, the NVIDIA DGX Spark stands out in performance against similar AI and gaming chips.

The NVIDIA DGX Spark delivers over 175 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 with high settings, ray tracing set to Ultra (Path Tracing), and DLSS 4 MFG enabled, showcasing significant improvement from previous capabilities.

Future Potential and Optimizations

As it stands, the DGX Spark is expected to perform well even at higher resolutions like 1440p, as lower CPU-related bottlenecks allow more power to be allocated to the GPU. This optimization promises enhanced gaming graphics. NVIDIA’s continuous efforts to refine the DGX Spark system will likely lead to further improvements, enhancing both AI functionalities and gaming performance.
