In 2022, he surprised the gaming world by establishing Nagoshi Studios in collaboration with NetEase. This year, during The Game Awards 2025, Nagoshi Studios introduced their highly anticipated debut project, Gang of Dragon.
Gang of Dragon Unveiled
Gang of Dragon marks a significant milestone for Nagoshi, showcasing a departure from the mobile gaming trend that NetEase is typically associated with. Instead, this new action-adventure game promises to deliver an experience akin to the Yakuza series but with its own unique flair. Gang of Dragon is set in the vibrant nightlife district of Kabukicho, Shinjuku, Tokyo. It features South Korean actor Ma Dong-seok, also known as Don Lee, as Shin Ji-seong, a high-ranking member of a Korean crime syndicate. Don Lee, celebrated for his roles in films such as Train to Busan, Marvel’s Eternals, and The Outlaws, as well as his recent appearance in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, brings a formidable presence to the game.
“I’m both relieved and deeply focused as we finally reach the day to unveil Gang of Dragon,” declared Nagoshi in a press release, highlighting the dedication and vision behind the project. He emphasized that the game portrays the lives of outlaws in Kabukicho with unfiltered honesty, promising a powerful human drama.
