Monster Hunter Wilds on PC has got a lot of hate on Steam for performance issues. Due to this, the player count has dropped.
Even more surprising is that Monster Hunter World has more players. So, in an effort to quell the unrest from fans, Capcom dropped the big Free Title Update 2 and teased two more updates coming down the pipe.
Performance Improvements and New Content
The latest update, Free Title Update 2, brings optimisations, such as adjusting texture streaming VRAM usage, but leaves the game’s minimum system requirements unchanged. To paraphrase, While it is unclear whether these changes will fix everything on Steam, Capcom says to expect more performance improvements. The patch will also add the mighty Lagiacrus and Seregios monsters, plus the ability to fight underwater.
Quality of Life Enhancements
The update includes multiple quality-of-life improvements, including the ability to access the map more easily without being interrupted by chat. Furthermore, adjustments for weapon balance have been made towards various arms and more will come in August.
In September with Free Title Update 3, quest difficulty will receive a boost along with special rewards that will help with a new Talisman crafting system. Weapons and armor upgrades in addition to diverse skills will be available to each Talisman. Winter’s Free Title Update 4 will add an additional new monster and more items to the game.
Patch Notes Recap and Additions
The update went live on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC recently. Thus, the full patch notes which feature new content. Players can now take on missions with powerful monsters like Tempered Lagiacrus and Tempered Seregios. Also, new tools, abilities, ornaments, and player voice lines add more to the game. Hunters are given tiered weapon and armor upgrades, along with new backdrops, nameplates and titles.
If you are playing on Steam, you now get DLSS4 and FSR4 visual improvements. Enhanced your gaming controls with your customisable key bindings. To highlight the update, the Festival of Accord will take place from July 23 to August 6, 2025, introducing limited-time events, new quests, and seasonal rewards.
