Magic Chess: Go Go Set for SEA Games Debut and World Championship Announcement

MOONTON Games is making waves in the esports scene with its auto-battler title, Magic Chess: Go Go (MCGG). This exciting game is set to debut at the renowned Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, showcasing its growing popularity and competitive prowess. Additionally, MOONTON Games has announced the first-ever Magic Chess: Go Go World Championship, marking a significant milestone for the game’s competitive landscape.

Magic Chess: Go Go At SEA Games

Magic Chess: Go Go will grace the opening day of the SEA Games, held in Bangkok, Thailand, on December 12th, 2025. Instead of a traditional tournament, the game will be featured in a demonstration match with players from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines competing. The SEA Games will also host other thrilling esports events such as Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Free Fire, and FC Online. “We’re incredibly proud that MCGG has earned its place on a prestigious stage like the SEA Games,” said Ray Ng, Head of Esports Ecosystems at MOONTON Games. “For us, MCGG has always been more than just a game. It’s about using the game to build a connected ecosystem that gives aspiring champions a chance to shine.”

MCGG, which launched globally in May, is already building a dedicated esports community. September saw the introduction of the first in-game qualifiers for international tournaments, paving the way for its Season 3 update.

Magic Chess: Go Go World Championship

In conjunction with its SEA Games debut, MOONTON Games is launching the GO1 World Championship, Magic Chess: Go Go’s inaugural offline international tournament. This event will gather 24 players vying for the championship title. The Grand Final of the GO1 World Championship is scheduled for January 25th, 2026, as part of the M7 Carnival.

The M7 Carnival will be a vibrant fan event celebrating the M7 World Championship for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. Fans can look forward to a variety of activities, including watch parties for both world championship events and a range of interactive experiences. Gao ‘Skyhook’ Chong, MCGG Producer at MOONTON Games, expressed excitement for the world championship: “Launching the GO1 World Championship is a proud moment for everyone on the team. It’s amazing to see how our growing esports ecosystem is putting players on the global stage and revealing hidden champions from everywhere across the world. This tournament embodies our vision of accessible and democratic esports, where everyone has a chance to rise to the top.”
