Popular VALORANT streamer Kyedae Shymko has officially declared an indefinite hiatus from her streaming activities as of April 18, 2025. This decision comes as a result of health issues and her renewed focus on professional esports competition, specifically within the Game Changers tournament circuit.
Shymko shared this announcement via her social media, revealing that this has been a consideration for some time. She mentioned that those close to her would not find this surprising, as streaming was never her ultimate career aspiration.
Personal Journey Beyond Streaming
Prior to her streaming fame, Shymko was on an academic path towards medical school. She explained that streaming was not her dream career, and despite appreciating the opportunities it provided, she gradually felt increasingly disconnected from it. Initially, she paused her studies to explore content creation, but eventually developed ambivalent feelings about the lifestyle, leading to her current decision.
Her streaming frequency had already decreased significantly in recent months. During March, she only streamed three times, and just once in April. Shymko noted that this reduction has positively impacted her mental and emotional health, stating she had not felt this peaceful and content in years. She concluded her announcement by thanking her followers for their continued support and encouraging them to prioritise their own wellbeing.

From Content Creator to Competitive Esports Professional
Shymko began her streaming journey in 2020, drawing audiences with her VALORANT gameplay and engaging cooking broadcasts. Throughout four years, she built a following exceeding 3 million on Twitch and established herself as a respected figure in the esports community. Her collaboration with the major esports organisation 100 Thieves further strengthened her industry presence.
Currently, Shymko is competing in the Game Changers 2025 North America Stage 1 with the Teevee roster. The team qualified through Open Qualifiers and remains undefeated in the Swiss Stage, aiming to secure a position in the Main Event. Her shift from full-time streaming to focused competition demonstrates a strategic career pivot aimed at personal fulfillment and professional development.
