Intel Panther Lake “Arc B390” iGPU Benchmarks Unveiled: Surpasses AMD Radeon 890M by 16%, Outpaces Lunar Lake “Arc 140V” by 83% Technologies

Intel Panther Lake “Arc B390” iGPU Benchmarks Unveiled: Surpasses AMD Radeon 890M by 16%, Outpaces Lunar Lake “Arc 140V” by 83%

Intel’s next-generation integrated graphics solution, the Arc B390 iGPU, is making waves with its recent benchmark leaks. Demonstrating significant improvements over its predecessors, this powerhouse from the Panther Lake lineup is shaping up to be a game-changer, particularly for gaming handheld devices.

Panther Lake’s Arc B390 iGPU: A New Era of Performance

Reports suggest that the first Intel Panther Lake handheld device has emerged, revealing that Intel is gearing up to equip handheld manufacturers with its advanced Core Ultra Series 3 chips. While initial information surfaced through a Geekbench leak, the latest benchmarks for the Panther Lake 12Xe3 iGPU, known as the Arc B390, have captured attention with their remarkable performance metrics.

Intel is set to offer its Arc B300 iGPUs in various configurations within the Panther Lake “Core Ultra Series 3” CPUs. According to sources, four SKUs are expected: the Arc B390, Arc B380, Arc B370, and Arc B360. The flagship B390, in particular, has been tested extensively and reported to deliver outstanding results in 3DMark. These models range from 2 to 12 Xe3 cores, all leveraging the latest Xe3 graphics technology.

In a recent performance leak from PassMark, the Intel Arc B390 showcased its capabilities by scoring 9453 points in the graphics benchmark suite.

The Intel Arc B390 has shown an 83% and 67% performance improvement over the Arc 140V and 140T models, respectively, and even outshines the discrete Arc A380 GPU by 50%. This marks a significant leap forward.

Facing Off Against Radeon iGPUs and Discrete GPUs

When compared to Radeon iGPUs, the Arc B390 outperforms the Radeon 890M by 16%. AMD’s upcoming Radeon 890M iGPU, part of its “Gorgon” Ryzen AI 400 series, might offer competition, yet the Arc B390 is anticipated to maintain its edge.

In the realm of discrete GPUs, the Intel Arc B390 outpaces the Arc A530M, which shares the same number of Xe cores but is based on the older Alchemist architecture. The B390 delivers 18% better performance and stands comparable to the Radeon 7600M dGPU.

While the RTX 3050 remains slightly ahead, the Arc B390’s impressive performance presents a formidable challenge to entry-level discrete options. The inclusion of features like XeSS 3 MFG further enhances its appeal.

It’s worth noting that current benchmarks might not fully capture the potential of Intel’s Xe2 architecture, with the Arc 140V appearing slower than expected. However, the new Arc Xe3 architecture is already proving its worth, and performance is likely to improve with future driver updates.

As Intel’s Panther Lake CPUs are designed for efficient platforms, they are particularly well-suited for gaming handhelds. The combination of Xe3 power, features like XeSS 3 MFG, and comprehensive driver support promises outstanding handheld gaming experiences.
