Intel’s upcoming Panther Lake CPUs, including the Core Ultra X7 358H and Ultra 5 338H, have reportedly leaked performance metrics in Cinebench R23. If these benchmarks are accurate, Panther Lake could closely match Arrow Lake’s capabilities in multi-threaded tests.
Unveiling Panther Lake’s Potential
Recent insights reveal details about the Core Ultra X7 358H and Core Ultra 5 338H processors, reportedly based on engineering samples. The Core Ultra X7 358H is said to sport 4 P-Cores and 12 E-Cores with a boost clock of up to 4.8 GHz. In contrast, the Core Ultra 5 338H features 4 P-Cores and 8 E-Cores, reaching a 4.7 GHz boost. These specs align with recent leaks, offering a glimpse into what might be expected from these CPUs.
The Panther Lake CPUs were benchmarked against the Arrow Lake-H series. The Core Ultra X7 358H was compared to the Core Ultra 7 255H, while the Core Ultra 5 338H faced off against the Core Ultra 5 225H. Despite Arrow Lake’s higher clock speeds, Panther Lake’s preliminary benchmarks suggest it holds its own in terms of performance.
The Intel Core Ultra X7 358H scored around 20,000 points in Cinebench R23, while the current Arrow Lake counterpart scored approximately 21,826 points. The Ultra 5 338H scored 16,000 points, slightly below its predecessor’s 17,988 points but at a lower TDP.
Graphics and Performance Enhancements
Beyond CPU performance, Panther Lake’s iGPU also shows promise. Sources indicate a significant improvement in 3DMark Time Spy scores, with the new optimized CPU achieving up to 6830 points, an 8.5% increase, and a 55% edge over Lunar Lake’s 8Xe2 iGPU. This suggests that the Panther Lake 12Xe iGPU may offer substantial performance gains.
Intel Panther Lake-H and U Lineup
The preliminary Intel Panther Lake lineup offers various configurations, with the Core Ultra X9 388H, Core Ultra X7 368H, and other models displaying a range of core counts and clock speeds. These CPUs are geared towards delivering improved power efficiency and performance metrics upon their official release.
Intel plans to launch the first Panther Lake SKU this quarter, with more models expected at CES 2026 in January. While these early benchmarks provide exciting insights, the final product’s performance could see further enhancements as development continues.
