Intel Arc B390 Achieves 7,000 Points in Time Spy Graphics, Dominating Radeon 890M and Arc 140T

Exciting new benchmarks have surfaced, showcasing a significant performance leap with the Xe3-based iGPUs on Panther Lake CPUs. These developments hint at a potential shift in the competitive landscape for integrated graphics.

Impressive Arc B390 Performance in Benchmarks

The gaming community is buzzing with reports suggesting that the Arc B390, the flagship iGPU, is delivering extraordinary results. The Panther Lake iGPU, boasting 12 Xe3 cores, reportedly scores around 7,000 points in the Time Spy Graphics test. Although 3D Mark tests are known to favor Intel GPUs, these new numbers are hard to ignore.

Reports indicate that the Arc B390 surpasses the performance of the GeForce RTX 3050 desktop GPU, a notable achievement for Intel. However, it’s important to approach these initial findings with caution, as the data is based on early engineering samples without corroborating screenshots.

Arc B390 vs. Competitors

If these numbers hold, the Arc B390 iGPU performs at roughly double the level of the RDNA 3.5-based Radeon 890M. This achievement also places it ahead of the Arc 140T on the Arrow Lake-H, suggesting a significant leap forward across generations. Although it may not match the higher-end Radeon 8050S and Radeon 8060S, the Panther Lake CPUs aim to offer competitive performance without directly targeting devices like Strix Halo.

Compared to the RTX 3050, the Arc B390 appears approximately 12% faster, although the difference in actual gaming environments may vary. Moreover, reports highlight that the Arc B390 achieves a strong 6,000 points in Steel Nomad Light, significantly outperforming both the 890M and the Arc 140T. This positions the Panther Lake family as a promising option for high-end gaming handhelds, potentially offering a more budget-friendly alternative to Strix Halo-based devices.
