I Hate This Place Pushed to 2026, Yet New Story Trailer Delivers Eerie Halloween Atmosphere

As the spooky season unfolds, horror fans eagerly search for the perfect game to enhance the Halloween atmosphere. Whether diving into new releases like Cronos: The New Dawn or revisiting classics such as Amnesia: The Dark Descent, there’s no shortage of spine-chilling experiences. However, one anticipated title, the isometric 80s-themed horror adventure from Broken Mirror Games and Skybound Games, won’t be part of this year’s lineup. Originally slated for a November 7, 2025 launch, players will have to wait a little longer for “I Hate This Place.”

New Release Date Announced

A freshly released story trailer offers a glimpse into the eerie world of “I Hate This Place,” and concludes with an important update: the game will now arrive on January 29, 2026. This delay affects the PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch versions.

According to the developers, the decision to postpone was driven by the need to integrate community feedback and ensure the game makes a strong first impression. “We need a little more time to better incorporate some changes and features,” Broken Mirror Games shared on their official X account.

A Game Inspired by Comics

“I Hate This Place” marks Broken Mirror Games’ debut entry into the gaming world. Inspired by the comic book from writer Kyle Starks and artist Artyom Topilin, the game immerses players in a supernatural 80s-themed setting. Initially announced in March 2025, fans have been eagerly awaiting its release ever since.

As the new release date approaches, players may snag this horror adventure during a future Halloween sale. Until then, a demo is available on PC for those eager to get a sneak peek at what awaits in “I Hate This Place.”
