Guide to Beat Adel Boss in Elden Ring Nightreign

While Elden Ring Nightreign players face a variety of powerful boss enemies, none are perhaps more fearsome than the Nightlords at the end of day three. Among these creatures, Adel, the Baron of Night, stands out for having a particularly grotesque appearance that has a twisted trunk and a maw that can shred anything down to paste, making him a weak target for those who know his patterns. Beast requires a plan and strategy to beat this aggression effectively.

Adel does not have certain Elemental Weaknesses. However, Poison, Frostbite and Sleep will affect it. When players are exploring, they should look out for buildings with a green sign. Such buildings might have weapons, which inflicts poison damage. Alternatively, you can use a relic that adds poison to a weapon you start with. Having a teammate with the Recluse class is beneficial for Frostbite since their magic is composed of Magic, Lightning, and Holy, creating damage that will help build Frostbite. Given that Adel is so mobile and always moving, it is suspected melee characters won’t be able to keep up. Having long-range attackers like Ironeye helps to deal consistent damage and pressure. Players who enjoy melee, Wylder is the best choice since his Shot Claw lets him close the gap and deal lots of damage.

Tactics for Defeating Adel

Players should avoid being bitten by Adel at all costs, as it can significantly reduce their HP. It’s safer to attack from the side or from behind, so do not confront it head-on. When you deal enough poison damage, Adel will stagger and become vulnerable to attack, allowing players to target him more effectively. But, players need to be careful since poison will spread around the dragon, thus creating areas to avoid while continuing to attack the target.

Phase One Challenges

Initially, Adel opens up its biggest jaws for a large purple attack. The purple attack will hit the vicinity as well so try to be away.  This attack tries to scoop up players and smash them into the ground, freezing anyone caught. This is a chance for teammates to attack Adel to free the trapped ally. It’s important to avoid this attack because it boosts Adel’s damage output and can entrap several players if the team is clumped together, making it harder to beat Adel.

Adel lets out two different roars when he is about to go on a rampage. ‍Throughout this sequence, the dragon lunges at the player three times in an attempt to bite them. You have to be alert to dodge these rushes, or you will be caught.

Dangerous Abilities to Watch For

Adel possesses two additional high-risk attacks. The first gets a crackling purple aura around itself and also hits AOE. The best course of action is to pull back as far as possible to escape the range of the threat and heal if necessary. Right after that, Adel summons bolts of lightning to strike where the party is fighting, a command that can turn the tide of battle. They are pretty easy to dodge by moving out of the path.

Adel launches into the air, only to crash down through the roof of a building, resembling a kamikaze attack. Players have to dodge the dragon’s jaws when it dives and then dodge the shock waves from its impact. Fissures appear in the ground for a few seconds, allowing players to dodge before the shockwave strikes, which can be a critical moment to heal.

Teamwork is Key to Beat Adel

Adel is one of the tougher Nightlords and requires a strong team with good communication. Victory is not too difficult to achieve if you have a team that has a good balance of long-range combat and meleeing abilities to beat Adel. Further, it is also quite important to use status effects appropriately. Players can definitely take down this tough enemy if they prepare and execute.
