K-pop and gaming enthusiasts have something exciting to look forward to as KRAFTON has announced an electrifying performance by Kunpimook ‘BamBam’ Bhuwakul at the 2025 PUBG Global Championship (PGC) Opening Ceremony. This thrilling event will not only feature the talented artist performing a special two-song set but also signify a grand celebration combining the prowess of PUBG esports with the vibrant world of K-pop.
A Grand Stage for PUBG UNITED
Taking place at the Siam Paragon in Bangkok, Thailand, the PGC will be hosted alongside the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC), marking the inaugural PUBG UNITED event. This unified event will see both competitions crown their respective champions. BamBam is set to dazzle the audience on Day 2 of the grand final, following an exciting Day 1 that features producer and DJ Kim ‘R.Tee’ Jung-gu, and BEATPELLA HOUSE beatboxers Geonho ‘Wing’ Kim and Oh ‘Hiss’ Hyeonseo.
Championships and Performances Collide
PUBG has a history of integrating the energy of K-pop into its esports events. Earlier collaborations included virtual K-pop group PLAVE during the PUBG Nations Cup and a stunning performance by K-pop girl group aespa in the finals. PUBG UNITED will see both the PGC and PMGC determine their 16 finalist teams, with grand finals scheduled from December 12th to December 14th. Each event will feature six matches per day, culminating in the crowning of global champions.
Epic Prizes on the Line
In these high-stakes tournaments, both PGC and PMGC offer massive prize pools. The PGC champions will take home $500,000 from a $1.5 million pool, while the mobile tournament boasts a $3 million total. The PMGC prize distribution varies across tournament stages, with the Grand Finals promising a $1.6 million prize, and the winning team securing $500,000. With such rewards, the competition promises to be as intense as the performances.
