The GPU market is facing a significant challenge as supply constraints continue to impact availability, leaving many retailers struggling to meet demand. Recent reports indicate that the shortage is becoming more pronounced, particularly affecting NVIDIA’s RTX 50 series and AMD’s RX 9000 series.
Retailer Struggles with Limited GPU Supply
A retailer has voiced concerns about the limited supply of GPUs, particularly NVIDIA’s RTX 5070 series. According to reports, distributors are unable to provide more than five units of each model, leading to cancellations of several orders. The retailer has noted that, aside from an order worth 20,000 Euros of RTX 5070, they won’t receive additional GPUs, including models like the ZOTAC RTX 5070 SOLID and Gainward RTX 5070 Ti Phoenix.

The retailer shared a message from their distributor, highlighting the cancellation of orders due to the lack of available inventory for RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5080, and RTX 5090 models. The volatile market conditions have restricted them to only selling the RTX 5070. Additionally, it was mentioned that large platforms are also placing “heavy” restrictions on the number of units retailers can order.
Impact on AMD’s GPU Availability
The situation isn’t much different for AMD’s RDNA 4 GPUs. Although the RX 9070 XT is currently back in stock, it is expected to face similar supply challenges. Sources indicate that AMD plans to raise GPU prices soon, potentially leading to shortages of the RX 9000 series across regions. This situation, exacerbated by the AI boom, has made it increasingly difficult to assemble a gaming PC at a reasonable price.
