Faker, the League of Legends superstar, has made waves in both gaming and K-pop sectors by appearing in the video for Stray Kids’ new song, ‘Ceremony’. The player whose contract with the organisation was recently extended appears at the end of the video when the player is sitting at his PC and then makes a shooing away gesture at the camera.
This unexpected crossover shows that Faker is very popular outside esports—especially in his home country, South Korea. His timing comes after being the first-ever person to be nominated into the League of Legends Hall of Fame in the year 2024.
The music video has racked up over 3 million views on Youtube in just 5 hours of release. Fans have commented on Faker’s look specifically, which shows how much the gaming icon draws in.
T1’s Ongoing Season
Faker makes his cameo in T1’s League of Legends 2025 as the team attempts to make Worlds, which is held in China this year. T1 is currently third in the Legend Group of LCK. With four matches left in the Group Stage, they have made it to the playoffs.
Where Esports Meets K-Pop
Stray Kids, an eight-member K-Pop formed group in 2018, has already dipped a toe into gaming. This collaboration marks yet another link between the group and esports, having previously added their contribution to League of Legends: Arcane Season 2 soundtrack ‘Come Play. There are many ways in which K-pop, and esports are collaborating. Back in 2025, girl-group Aespa performed at the PUBG Nations Cup, held in Seoul, while other K-pop acts have produced songs for important esports events.
New Jeans sang at 2023 League of Legends Worlds. THE BOYZ made a song for T1 at Worlds 2022 and KISS OF LIFE performed at VALORANT Champions 2024. The biggest crossover probably remains Riot Games’ virtual K-pop group K/DA which was launched in 2018. This virtual group consists of League of Legends characters voiced by I-DILE members, specifically Miyeon and Soyean.
