The presentation offered a detailed exploration of the expansive Hagga Basin, highlighting its diverse regions like the verdant O’odham, the treacherous Hagga Rift, and the striking rock formations of Jabal Eifrit, among others, to demonstrate the vast scale and variety awaiting players.
Exploring Arrakis in Open-World Glory
Drawing inspiration from Denis Villeneuve’s cinematic adaptations, Dune: Awakening introduces players to an open-world experience on the perilous planet of Arrakis. Previous beta testing revealed only about a quarter of the Hagga Basin, but the recent stream unveiled the full scope of its breathtaking landscapes, immersing players in a richly crafted environment.
Surviving and Thriving on Arrakis
Funcom emphasised that players will engage in a robust survival experience before venturing into the perilous Deep Desert. Gamers can align with either the Atreides or Harkonnen factions, construct formidable strongholds, tackle challenging Imperial Testing Stations, and craft advanced schematics. Exploration and resource gathering are enhanced through various vehicles, offering dynamic gameplay. The Landsraad feature also enables players to influence their faction’s success, catering to both PvE and PvP enthusiasts.
