Find every basic and advanced trainer in Dune Awakening. A complete locations guide for all five character classes, Trooper, Swordmaster, Bene Gesserit and more. The giant desert of Dune Awakening can feel a bit overwhelming, particularly when trying to unlock five classes. While you earn skill points naturally as you play, you actually have to visit specific trainers throughout the Hagga Basin and even further afield to invest them.
How the Trainer System Works
The game world has trainers scattered throughout for each character discipline. The trainers start quests that get completed later to buy perks that were earned by levelling up. The system is easy: find the trainer, complete the quest, and become able to invest skill points in that skill.
Upon creating a character, players automatically receive basic training of their starting class. Essentially, it means you can’t the original trainer for that discipline, but can go straight to the advanced trainer instead. For all other disciplines, basic and advanced trainers can be found, allowing for full skill tree access.
Choosing Your Starting Class
The distance from the starting point varies between trainers. Reaching a Swordmaster or a Bene Gesserit basic trainer requires a lot of traveling from the starting areas. The Trooper trainer is open during these hours, making it less appealing as a starting option although it is interesting to use.
The Mentat discipline is a compromise between these extremes and is a good choice for newcomers. You can not choose Planetologist in the beginning since it is a support class. To obtain it, you have to find its trainer by yourself.

Trooper Trainers
Basic Training
The basic Trooper trainer is one of the easiest to find. At griffen’s reach outpost you will find gavori. Being first contact for most players, he lives in hagga basin south. He must kill some easy enemies in the area before going back to unlock basic training.
All trainers have a glowing orb that helps you identify them while exploring. This visual marker is very helpful when looking for Trainers all over the world.
Advanced Training
Trooper advanced training requires a lot of progress. Caraval works on the second floor of the Arrakeen, the centre social spot of the game. Players can get there by spending some thousands of Solari on a transport from any outpost like Griffen’s Reach. Alternatively, they can make an Ornithopter to travel independently.
Though the early transport remains achievable, many of Caraval’s quest objectives are situated in higher level zones with strong enemies and nasty weather conditions. Although he is facing some issues, the jobs of his remain simple. Also, she is based in Arrakeen and can be checked in.
Planetologist Trainers
The Planetologist profession becomes available early on. Derek Chinara a basic trainer based in a building above Imperial Testing Station No. 2 in Hagga Basin South. In order to unlock basic training, his first step is to clear the test station located nearby.
Derek is the basic and advanced trainer for the whole questline. However, he moves around frequently, and does not have map markers. He remains close to Imperial Testing Stations all over Arrakis because he is obsessed with sciences of hidden things.
The players can find Derek at the stations in order.

- Imperial Testing Station 76 in Jabal Erg Aljanow.
- Imperial Testing Station 29 in Hagga Rift.
- Imperial Testing Station 71 in Odom.
- Imperial Testing Station 163 in Odom.
Derek usually stays near the entrances of the facility, asking to explore and research. In-between probing Station visits, he gives various errands that involve some talking with various characters or return to his original Hagga Basin South.
Later testing sites are in high-level areas with dangerous enemies and environmental hazards. Thus, the questline becomes progressively harder. A natural wandering through the desert will be the best way to progress through Derek’s long questline.
