Break the Wolf Statues in Doom: The Dark Ages to Unlock Powerful Upgrades

Doom: The Dark Ages broadens its gameplay scope with semi open-world missions, letting players engage at their own pace. One of these stages, Ancestral Forge, the ninth mission in the game, continues the structure introduced in The Siege Part One, offering more freedom and exploration.

Within these open areas, players will encounter Sorcerer and Knight statues containing valuable items. Sorcerers guard Wraithstones while Knights hold Rubies. However, some of these statues are locked behind barriers formed by glowing wolf projections. To unlock them, players must locate and destroy three hidden wolf statues in the surrounding area using their shield.

Locating the Sorcerer Statue

Upon entering the open-world section of Ancestral Forge, head right from the Sentinel Shrine. Just beyond the first Ancestral Heart, you’ll come across a Sorcerer statue holding a Wraithstone. It’s blocked by a mystical barrier powered by three wolf statues nearby.

First Wolf Statue – Nearby and Guarded

The first of the trio is positioned directly above the Sorcerer statue. Expect a demon ambush as you approach the area. Once the enemies are cleared, throw your shield to destroy the statue.

Second Wolf Statue – Pink Key Required

To reach the second wolf statue, you’ll need to acquire the Pink Key. This can be found by following your objective marker to the first Ancestral Heart. After defeating the enemies there, trace the golden trail that leads to the key.

Return to the level’s starting point and head right, using the Pink Key to unlock a previously inaccessible path. Inside lies the second wolf statue—ready to be shattered.

Third Wolf Statue – Deep in the Level

The third statue is located near the second Ancestral Heart, on the far side of the level. Clear the enemies guarding the area to deactivate the barrier protecting the statue. With the demons gone, destroy the final wolf statue using your shield.

Claiming the Wraithstone

Once all three wolf statues are demolished, the protective field around the Sorcerer statue fades. You can then interact with it to obtain the Wraithstone. These stones allow players to enhance their combat tools—upgrading ranged weapons, melee attacks, and shield performance.
