Perfect World recently released more information on the upcoming CS Asia Championship. The CAC 2025 event will take place in mid-October, with a million-dollar prize purse. Furthermore, a million-dollar (approximately R19 million) was confirmed for the CAC 2025.
The tournament organiser has given confirmation that 16 teams will be taking part in the tournament with nine being directly invited to the event taking place on 14-19 October.
Qualification Path and Prize Distribution
Perfect World announced that the million-dollar prize pool will be shared by the participating teams and players. The other seven tournament spots will be decided through regional qualifiers in Europe, the Americas, and China.
A total of four qualification spots will be up for grabs for European teams. The Americas qualifier will secure just one position. Chinese sides will battle to fill the last two spots in the event.
Confirmed Teams and Tournament Format
Nine top organizations have accepted invitations for CAC 2025:
- FaZe Clan.
- TYLOO.
- 3DMAX.
- Lynn Vision.
- PaiN Gaming.
- Virtus.pro.
- Team Liquid.
- Legacy.
- B8.
The tournament will break teams into two groups of eight in a double-elimination format. Group champions proceed right to the semi-finals, second and third-placed teams to the quarter finals.
This playoff stage will use a single-elimination format with quarter-finals, semi-finals, and the third-place match best-of-three. The grand final will use an expanded best of five format to find the winner.

Perfect World’s Growing Esports Influence
This isn’t Perfect World’s first major esports endeavour. In late 2024, a Chinese tournament organiser hosted China’s first Counter-Strike Major, which peaked 1.3 million viewers during its live stream.
Perfect World is further boosting its esports presence having collaborated with PGL in March 2024 to work on Dota 2 and CS2 events until the end of the 2026 season.
