Throughout the world of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, players can discover special locations called Gestral Beaches, each featuring unique minigames. Completing these beaches rewards players with various Swimsuit outfits for their characters. This comprehensive guide breaks down all Gestral Beaches, including their locations and the rewards available.
Gestral Beach 1: Parkour Challenge
Located west of Gestral Village on the world map, this beach becomes accessible after completing Flying Waters. No special Esquie Ability is required for this challenge.
Upon arrival, players need to speak with the Gestral on the left who will task them with completing a parkour challenge. Behind this Gestral, players can approach the water’s edge to begin the challenge.
The course consists of logs in water, spinning platforms, and moving platforms. It’s crucial to keep the camera directly behind the character to avoid misaligning steps and falling, which would force a restart.
After successfully reaching the small Gestral at the end, players earn the Swimsuit outfit for Gustave. Continuing the conversation, the Gestral asks about the Gommage. The Gestral admits being unable to count, so any answer will suffice. Players then receive the Swimsuit I outfit for Lune.

Gestral Beach 2: Raft Volleyball
This beach is located northeast of Stone Wave Cliffs on the world map and requires the Swim Esquie Ability. Players must be in Act 2 or beyond to access this location.
Upon entering, players should speak with the Gestral to begin Raft Volleyball, arguably the most challenging minigame. Players can choose between three opponents: The Weakest, Just a normal one, or The Strongest.
During the game, players must use their Attack to knock incoming Gestral projectiles back towards the Sakapatate, ultimately destroying their raft while protecting their own. The health of both rafts is indicated by how many green lanterns remain on each.
It’s unnecessary to run from one side of the raft to the other, as the attack reach is sufficient. The optimal timing is to execute the attack just as the Gestral reaches the peak of its toss when it begins accelerating downward. Priority should be given to deflecting flaming Gestral projectiles, as they deal double damage.
Defeating the weakest opponent rewards players with a Resplendent Chroma Catalyst (for upgrading weapons to Lv. 19). The normal opponent rewards the Swimsuit II outfit for Lune, while the strongest opponent rewards the Swimsuit II outfit for Sciel.
Gestral Beach 3: Only Up
This beach is located in the enclosed body of water west of Monoco’s Station and requires the Swim Esquie Ability. This challenge is a clear reference to games like Only Up.
Players must carefully jump and climb various floating objects and geometry, using ropes, handholds, and grapple points to scale to the top. Proper camera positioning is essential for every jump and climb, as a misplaced move can result in falling all the way down.
At the summit, players will find a group of partying Gestrals. By climbing the nearby stairs and speaking with the Gestral, players receive the Swimsuit outfit for Monoco.

Gestral Beach 4: Time Trial
Located directly north of Gestral Beach 3 and southeast of Sirene on the world map, this beach also requires the Swim Esquie Ability.
Upon arrival, players should speak with the Gestral ahead to accept a time trial challenge with the following reward tiers:
- Bronze reward: Complete in 45 seconds
- Silver reward: Complete in 41 seconds
- Gold reward: Complete in 38 seconds
To earn the Gold reward (and the swimsuit), players must finish in less than 38 seconds. This requires constant running and pre-emptively angling the camera in the direction of the next jump during climb animations.
After reaching the top, players must navigate rotating platforms and take either handhold path. The left path leads up high, requiring a jump across the finish line below, while the right path involves jumping across a gap before crossing the finish line.
With flawless execution, players will complete the course with less than a second to spare, earning the Swimsuit II outfit for Verso.
Gestral Beach 5: Climb the Wall
Located southeast of Sirene in an enclosed body of water, this beach requires the Fly Esquie Ability and is accessible in Act 3.
The challenge involves climbing a wall of handholds while avoiding flaming blue orbs dropping from above. Success depends on timing and reacting quickly to obstacles appearing at the top of the structure.
Players should begin on a side where orbs are falling more slowly and in smaller clusters, then progress upward one handhold at a time. Attempting to rush multiple handholds in succession increases the risk of mistakes and getting hit by orbs.
Upon reaching the top, players should speak with the Grandis to receive the Swimsuit outfit for Maelle.
Additional Swimsuits Through Romance
Beyond the Gestral Beaches, two additional swimsuits can be unlocked by progressing Sciel’s romance arc. However, players should note that romancing Sciel prevents romancing Lune.
Starting in Act 2, players should speak with Sciel at camp whenever possible and choose to spend time with her when prompted. After reaching Relationship Level 3, a special hangout scene becomes available to advance to Level 4. During this scene, select the dialogue option: “Do you even need to ask?”
After reaching Level 4, the next hangout offers an opportunity to deepen the romance by selecting: “I feel used, but I like it.” This officially begins a romance with Sciel. The subsequent hangout scene involves a swimming lesson, unlocking the final two swimsuits: Swimsuit I for Sciel and Swimsuit I for Verso.
