Cafe Owner Experiences Frequent Ryzen 9800X3D CPU Failures; 15 Units Down Already

The ongoing issue of CPU failures is causing concern, particularly for an internet cafe owner who has experienced significant losses. Despite the initial belief that ASRock motherboards were primarily affected, recent developments indicate that ASUS motherboards are also involved in these failures.

Cafe Owner Faces Alarming CPU Failures

Reports suggest that Ryzen 9800X3D CPU failures are becoming a notable problem, rivaling the instability issues faced by Intel’s 13th/14th-gen processors. Previously, most failures were associated with ASRock motherboards, but now failures are occurring exclusively on ASUS motherboards. A Reddit user, u/RealisticLoad3327, shared his experience of owning an internet cafe where he installed 150 Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPUs with ASUS B650M-AYW WiFi motherboards. Despite using reliable 850W 80+ Gold Huntkey PSUs, which are generally considered subpar, the issue seems to stem from the CPUs themselves, as they failed at random intervals. Out of the 150 units, 15 have already failed.

Unresolved Technical Challenges

The owner noted that no overclocking or PBO was engaged, and the systems were running on BIOS 3283, a relatively new update aimed at enhancing stability. Despite this, CPUs continue to fail unexpectedly. The exact cause remains unknown, as neither AMD nor its board partners have identified why these failures persist. It’s been almost a year since these issues began, yet the mystery deepens with each CPU failure. The fact that 15 out of 150 CPUs have failed suggests a deeply concerning trend for those using these systems.
