Microsoft made an unexpected splash at the New Game+ Showcase with Obsidian announcing something exciting for PlayStation fans: Avowed is set to arrive on PlayStation 5 soon. Celebrating its first anniversary, this action roleplaying game initially launched on PC and Xbox Series S|X on February 18, 2026. Now, it’s poised to make its PS5 debut on February 17, expanding Microsoft’s multiplatform reach. Gamers can pre-order either the $49.99 Standard Edition or the $59.99 Premium Edition, which includes a Digital Artbook, Soundtrack, 2 Player Armors, and 8 Companion Skins. Those undecided can opt for the $10 Premium Upgrade later.
Pre-Order Bonuses and PS5 Enhancements
Pre-ordering Avowed comes with a delightful bonus: the Emperor’s Feast, featuring five royal dishes that boost health, mana, and attributes for an early advantage. The game is also marked as PS5 Pro Enhanced, promising the best visuals and performance on the market’s most powerful console.
Free Anniversary Update for All Platforms
In addition to its PS5 launch, Avowed is receiving a free Anniversary update on all platforms. This significant patch introduces new playable races such as Amowin, Oralins, and Dwarves. Players can explore new weapon archetypes, expanded ability trees for Rangers and Fighters, and various accessibility features like an Arachnophobia mode. Enhanced character customization and a community-requested Photo Mode from Grounded are also part of the update. Quality of life improvements and a New Game Plus mode, which lets players carry over abilities and gear, are included too.
This major patch will introduce a range of new features and improvements, enhancing the overall gaming experience.
Grounded 2 Winter Update Details
Obsidian didn’t stop with Avowed. Reports suggest Grounded 2, currently in early access, is gearing up for a Winter Update. This update will introduce the Community Garden, a new biome with sub-biomes like the vegetable garden, greenhouse, and pumpkin patch. New creatures, including Crickets and earwig variants, add to the tactical depth, while returning insects and a mountable Ladybug buggy promise more adventures. Although the release date remains undisclosed, the game’s X account recommends watching the Casually Grounded 2 livestream next week for more information.
