Arc Raiders Dev Lowers Cosmetic Prices, Issues Refunds, and Unveils Secret Duo Matchmaking

Exciting news for gamers! Arc Raiders is slashing the prices of its store cosmetics and plans to refund players who purchased them before the new pricing kicks in on November 13.

Developers at Embark Studios announced this update on the official Arc Raiders website, stating they’ve listened to user feedback and adjusted prices accordingly. The revised prices will be available starting tomorrow, November 13, at 1.30am PT / 4.30am ET / 9.30am GMT.

For those who bought cosmetics at the previous rates, a refund in Raider Tokens is coming your way. Expect these to be automatically credited to your account within the next week.

New Features and Matchmaking Updates

While the exact new prices remain under wraps, this price cut is likely to thrill players, especially those who felt the premium skins were overpriced. Alongside this, Embark Studios has been fine-tuning duo matchmaking, secretly testing it before enabling it earlier this week.

The matchmaking system now prioritizes Solos and Squads to play separately, then matches Duos with other Duos, and Trios with Trios. However, keep in mind that this system isn’t foolproof, so you might occasionally encounter mixed player groups.

Free and Premium Raider Decks

Currently, there’s a free Raider Deck available, and in the future, both free and premium options will be offered. Free decks will include gameplay items to assist new players, which can be unlocked through progression. Embark Studios emphasizes there are “no pay-to-win items in the premium Raider Decks,” focusing instead on cosmetics and convenience.

Arc Raiders’ first major update, North Line, is launching tomorrow, November 13. This update unveils a new region north of the Rust Belt called Stella Montis, offering “cold, pristine” landscapes filled with relics of humanity’s past dreams. Look forward to a community unlock event, two new ARCs — Matriarch and Shredder — along with fresh weapons, playstyles, and quests. The subsequent update, Cold Snap, is scheduled for December.

“Arc Raiders raises the bar for extraction shooters pretty much across the board, with an incredibly gripping progression grind, tense fights against NPCs and other players that make for memorable matches, and loot that feels completely worth all the work and stress it takes to obtain it,” as cited in a review praising the game with an ‘Amazing’ 9/10 rating.

Despite some debate over its use of AI, Arc Raiders has achieved significant commercial success, selling over 4 million copies globally in just under two weeks and hitting a peak of 700,000 concurrent players across platforms.
